Old Ranch Country Club was named one of the best outdoor wedding venues in Orange County by California Wedding Day Magazine.

One visit to the remarkable property in Seal Beach and its easy to see why.

he venue is in the heart of Southern California, easily accessible to residents and visitors within Orange County and Los Angeles County. And yet it feels a world apart. The Western-themed club is nestled among 128 acres of lakes and tree-lined fairways, offering a stunning view for the bridal party and guests to enjoy.

Old Ranch consistently wins the Couple’s Choice Award from the wedding publication The Knot. A review posted by a satisfied bride on the website is typical of the praise Old Ranch receives: “We had our dream wedding at Old Ranch Country Club! From the gorgeous scenery to the amazing staff, my husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot when we picked this venue.”

“Having a dedicated ceremony site that’s not on a tee box or another part of the golf course makes us different than other golf clubs,” says Andrea Gonzalez, Private Event Director at Old Ranch Country Club. The club’s unique setting and proximity close to beaches and I-405 Freeway make Old Ranch an attractive venue for couples to exchange vows, Gonzalez says.

In 2010, Old Ranch Country Club completed an extensive remodel and expansion of its wedding pavilion and gazebo.

The handcrafted wrought-iron gazebo sits at the end of a manicured lawn overlooking the lake. There’s an expansive veranda space large enough to host up to 450 guests to witness the couple’s “I do’s.” After the ceremony, guests adjourn to the club’s beautiful indoor-outdoor ballrooms.

It’s not unusual for couples to make a wedding at Old Ranch a wedding-vacation where they take advantage of local lodging and the beaches to transition from wedding to vacation during their stay.

“We try to make each wedding as personalized as possible,” Gonzalez says of her events team. “We know how overwhelming it can be, but we try to guide couples in the right direction and give them a personalized experience from start to finish.”

The delicious cuisine is a key part of the wedding day experience at Old Ranch Country Club.

“All catering is prepared in- house,” says Gonzalez. “Our chef Michael Nirtaut is a regional chef for ClubCorp, so he is well-versed and knowledgeable,” Nirtaut was chosen to participate in the Passports to Chefs portion of the OC Food and Wine Celebration, a culinary evening presented by Rooster’s Orange County to help raise funds for children in need. The event has taken place at Old Ranch each year since 2011.

A review left on Old Ranch’s Facebook page is typical of the wedding day praise:

“We recently held a wedding reception for one of our daughters here. Every aspect of Old Ranch exceeded our expectations. The beauty of the club and grounds was exceeded only by the quality of employees. The Old Ranch employees all deserve our most sincere thanks for making our wedding reception an amazing event.”
