Old Ranch Country Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017.

With an upgraded golf experience and a full calendar of events, the club expects to be the social center of Seal Beach for another half century.

ld Ranch is a hub for the community. It’s a place for friends, family and business colleagues to come together,” says Old Ranch Country Club Membership Director Renee Ord. “The Club strives to create lasting memories through our annual social and golf traditions.”

Old Ranch provides membership offerings that allow for differing levels of participation at the club. These include an Introductory- Individual Golf Membership, a Young Executive golf membership for those under 43, a Golf for the Family membership and Group Business Golf Memberships. And there’s the Social Membership designed for those who want to enjoy the busy and vibrant social scene at Old Ranch without golfing.

And at Old Ranch the social calendar is always full. Holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are always celebrated at the club. Old Ranch takes care of dads with a fresh-off-the-grill barbecue, poolside cocktails and a Bloody Mary bar. Kids have fun too with Dave the Game’s Master and an old-school ice cream truck for dessert.

Two special events are social highlights at Old Ranch: Independence Day Celebration and The Cowboy Camp Out.

The Independence Day Celebration this year took place on Mon., July 2. Members and their guests enjoyed lakeside activities, festive food and live music. After sundown, guests gather on the veranda and around the clubhouse for nearly 20 minutes of fireworks fun, as fireworks are set off over the lake and 18th Green. “It’s an event where the members, families, friends and the community come together,” Ord says. “It’s been a tradition in Seal Beach for decades. I meet people who tell me they came as a child, and now years later they bring their own families to celebrate the holiday.”

The other major annual event at the club is the Cowboy Camp Out, which takes place every year over Memorial weekend.

“Some 600 people attended this year’s camp out,” Ord says. This isn't any ordinary camp out though. There’s archery, zip lining, bull riding, hay rides, fishing, panning for gold, picnic games and even a good 'old Texas BBQ. After the sun goes down, campers settle into their tents lining the fairways, sleeping off the long day, and then wake up to a hot-off-the-grill pancake breakfast.

“The event is a community kick-off to summer and a chance for members, their friends and family, to celebrate as a Club,” Ord says.

The Club’s regular weekly social events include: Chop House Nite, held each Friday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. It’s a favorite with members, who enjoy prime rib, a range of seafood entrees, including crab legs, smoked salmon, an oyster bar, lobster Mac and cheese, a shrimp flambé station, clam chowder and a salad bar.

Old Ranch Country Club strives to provide a well-rounded membership experience that caters golf interests as well as social and business interests.

“Every country club has their defining characteristics,” says Old Ranch General Manager Frank Herrera. “Ours is being a casual, friendly club that still upholds the country club experience. Old Ranch is a warm and inviting atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.”
